Film still rocks!

August 26, 2011

A little video that’s quite interesting for those of you who, like me, still see the benefits of shooting with film versus digital.  Many of the reasons given in the clip are why I still predominantly shoot film and why I think that, while digital has given us convenience and near instant feedback, many people who learned to shoot digitally don’t ‘make’ pictures.  I’ve often read in articles or been told by people that with digital, they shoot hundreds of frames and then just delete afterwards.  Sorry, that method just doesn’t do it for me.

For those of you who don’t know, the older gent in the video is Elliott Erwitt, one of photography’s greatest practitioners and a photographer who has given us many iconic images over the decades.

The video can also be watched in full-screen. Click to play then click on the icon in the lower right corner that comes up when you move your cursor over the video window.

日本語を話す皆さん、このビデオは面白いですけれど英語だけです。すみません。英語が分かれば楽しんでください。
