World Press Photo Awards 2009

February 22, 2009

It’s that time of year again.  The World Press Photo Awards have been chosen for 2009.  As usual, some very intense images on display.

While you’re at it, I highly recommend you check out ‘Journey to the end of coal’.  It’s a user-interactive look inside the coal mines in China (without a doubt, the most dangerous in the world).  The story by photojournalist Samuel Bollendorff originally ran in the French newspaper “Le Monde”.  It shows the other side of China’s new prosperity, where money is God and corruption, environmental rape and deaths of the miners are just ways of doing business.

2009年の世界報道写真の特賞を選んだ。この年も厳めしい写真があります。

その後、「石炭完の旅」見た方がいい。すみません、英語だけですがとても面白い写真があります。中国の炭坑と炭坑労働者についています。
